Mindfulness

(From the personal notes of our dear friend and Truth student, Pat Visick)
The following phrases are monumental in depth; collected from the Well of Truth and made available to humanity from on High.  Let the following serve as reminders for what is important in this Life.  Each day, ponder one or more of them, and without thought … allow the deepest meaning to enter your mind.

My favorite is :”DO EVERYTHING AS IF IT WERE NOTHING” It is always right to do your best in everything that you do, but the problem is we want to identify and get emotional pleasure or pain out of it. There is so much freedom in Nothing. Dare to be no one.:)

The world relentlessly bombards us with the idea that we need to be somebody special or our life is worthless which is the way it keeps us anxious towards the future. 4 billion people trying to be special to stand out from everyone else makes for a world where stepping on each other to get ahead is seen as normal. Which explains why there is so much conflict and fear towards our fellow man. Dare to not be a part of that and your life starts to finally make sense.

“Rest-Wherever you are” resonates with something deep inside. I don’t have to go along with the craziness I run into daily with people, events and anxious thoughts inside. The whole idea of having your personal ‘NO’ ready to go into silent action and taking a long deep breath and relaxing your worries away is very very nice. We all could use a rest from ourselves.

    Intellectual Center. ————“Thinking only.”
    Emotional Center. ————-“Feelings only.”
Moving Center. —————–Manifestations of the body.*
Instinctive Center. ————-“Like and dislike.” “Pain and Comfort.”

But the beauty of it is, there’s capability for Attention, Awareness, Alertness, Aliveness that is generated. But, not by us!
“the sweetness and simplicity of essence is not taken seriously by the lower self”.
We need help from an exterior Source.

“Walk on Stilts”…..Everything changes when our view is elevated. For example: I look at an action or thought that passed through me as nothing more than an action or thought that passed through me…. I didn’t create it, need not defend it, or even necessarily believe in it. – just because it appeared in my presence. Rather, it is unobjectively observed from a higher vantage point, analyzed for it’s merit or lack of, with no feeling of attachment by this observer. This allows ‘me’ to move into the next event, uninhibited. Now that would be different!!

If all the people you know were to tell you to feel bad over something you did – it is well within your power to decide not to feel bad. You have always had this power to say NO to all painful states. We choose pain because we are so use to it and believe it is necessary…it is not!
