“An Unclear Mind Can Only Give You Confusion!”
To say it another way, “A clear mind is everything.”
Until we begin from a place of clarity, nothing will change in our lives for the better. It is impossible to get clarity out of confusion. A confused mind plus a new car = a confused new car owner. A confused mind plus a new relationship = a confused person with a new relationship. So, my first duty in life must be to have clarity. The inner determines the outer, not what our society teaches, which is that the outer improvements will lead you to happiness and clarity. This is a lie. Look at your own life to realize this is true. Society’s solutions are insane. Go buy something to cheer yourself up, or distract yourself with a meaningless activity, but these only postpones a real solution.
Simply take a look at this world to observe that there is something terribly wrong. Don’t be afraid of seeing how lost it is. This will encourage you to become your own expert about life. You will understand what is important and what is not.
Here is another beautiful, helpful truth: “We never notice the familiar, we notice only the unfamiliar.” Applying this to our day can help us awaken to a different life. There really is another life that this world knows nothing about, doesn’t want to know about, does not care to know about, wants others not to find out about, and yet it exists. This other life would interrupt the egotistical lives most people exist in. They consider this other life as the enemy. It is not the enemy.
The enemy is within, so if you conquer yourself, you conquer and command the whole world. Work with these truths so one day you cross over into a new life void of any problems or troubles. Remember, “It is better to be happy than sad.” Be self-honest and true, and all will be well for you.
“Awareness is a higher state in which your whole nature feels and understands with a total sensing of what you are doing at the moment you are doing it.-Vernon Howard
This post explains many things about my lack of spiritual progress, until I have a clear mind to climb up the mountain, I won’t be clear enough to see what I am doing against myself. So simple. I am the problem. Thanks!
Thanks Steve. I really thought I had a clear mind until I began studying these teachings. Oh how wrong I was – on many levels! Clarity begins and life takes on a whole brand new beautiful meaning.
Calling my unhappiness happy is a way of life for billions of people. Vernon says, there exists Real Happiness, where you are a free individual who does not have to go around on this planet trying to convience oneself and others that you doing just fine as you are. Learning to tell yourself the truth about yourself to yourself scares most, but a few of us have had enough of that life, and wish to be authentically free. No cares about ourselves, living a casual life is so much more important. With hard inner work at self-discovery, a new life opens up infront of our eyes. We begin to see where we were going wrong, which is a great relief. Thank you, Mr. Howard
