If you will slow down, you will start to become much more sensitive to your thoughts, feelings, and emotions. It will occur to you that there is another unhurried, relaxed, and leisurely way to live your life. Society says, “You must be fast and anxious to receive life’s prizes.” We recognize this as the rat race. This ability to relax, which as humans we all have, will be met with protest from anxious mechanical parts.

Anxious thoughts know that they will die if you decide to slow down, for they cannot exist in a slow, thoughtful environment.

Slow down inwardly brings attention to any anxious thought or impulse. This Light of attention tells one to discard anything self-harming. But this goes even deeper, for humans don’t live from facts, but from their imaginations. Sure, there may be some facts there, but imagination is in charge. The imagination projects itself onto life and distorts what is.

Projecting one’s imagination onto the moment. Catching yourself doing this is pure gold. You recognize this as a false moment and let it go. But there are even more rewards: by your honesty with yourself, you see other people making the same mistake. This process of imagination is unconscious. Unseen and unnoticed, it does its destructive work and makes humans believe the problem is outside of themselves. The imagination says, That over there is the enemy. We are duped to who the real foe is …our misunderstanding.

Please don’t believe one word here, but go to work on your own, slowing down so you can prove or disprove these words. I’m telling you the truth.
