Can I achieve this newness? Vernon said, “I am being systematically slowly murdered by myself and all those around me by staying fast asleep.” Sure, I’m awake enough to function on this planet, but I’m not awake enough to receive cosmic gifts. My attitude must be, “I want this more than anything else.”
Subsequently, Cosmic Gifts give you a new sense of inner freedom, a realization that all is well. So New that you are in awe. And that you don’t need anything or anyone outside yourself, because you have everything you need. That haunting want machine within is gone. Everything is fine out there because you are fine within. You are not looking for “the next” thing to fulfill you; you are already there. You have it.
How do I get there? Presently, you identify with your physical body and all that happens to you (to whom you believe you are, you are sure this is real, it is not). Can you see that you are going to have to move psychologically to receive something else? Your present course through life is fixed, and you can only receive more of the same. How terrible. Nothing New. Vernon is inviting you to see life through cosmic eyes, where all your present problems are seen through. By seeing through your own self-structure, your images, and your present beliefs, you break free into a free awakened position.
Consequently, I can achieve this awakened state by “detachment” of all that passes through me. Thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Vernon gives a powerful exercise, which is to ask oneself, “What does that have to do with me?” This question exposes inner impostors that say I must suffer over this or that. You realize, I don’t have to believe in anything that causes me pain. This is a breakthrough. “I am free” is not just a thought anymore, but a reality inside of me.
In other words, I have tried, but words cannot describe this state of inner peace, this experience, but just maybe, ignite a wish in you to break out of the lunatic asylum, society. Break out of you, and you break out of the whole world. Vernon Howard will help guide you to do what is right for you. Thank You, Vernon! Vernon says a clear mind is everything. You can gain fame, wealth, and praise, but without a clear mind, you will never be able to enjoy anything you gain. This fact, which many think is negative, places your attention on having the right values. Values that bring you peace of mind, and bring on a happier existence. This is a world that does not deliver on its promises, so my first aim must be to wake up. I must find out for myself, about everything, so I can stand alone if necessary and do what is right for me. Agreeing with someones wrongness is never right for me, and whether conscious or unconscious, I pay dearly if I refuse to see this. Nobody truly gets away with anything.
