Could There Truly Be Another Life I Don’t Know About?

by | Jan 8, 2026 | Personal Insights

We all proclaim of an existence of a nice life, but how many of us live in that life? Mankind can easily fool themselves into believing they are already there, but with observation and honesty, you can see that is untrue. Once I see clearly, I have not arrived, and I’m always almost there, maybe around the next corner, then something inside changes. Seeing that you have not made progress is the first step in realizing something huge is going to have to change in your approach. You will have to go into action. Vernon says to make as many mistakes as you must, but go until you find this “Something Else.”

Wouldn’t it be nice to not have to go along with things that you sense are wrong for you? So, risk disappointing other people and parts of yourself that wish to stay the same. The true path is for those who can’t take it anymore and want and wish for a better way. The Truth delivers. The truth will show you tools you already possess, but have not developed. Psychological tools that need your personal development before you can use them, and anyone can do that.

Get to work on changing yourself. Any Vernon Howard book or lecture that will challenge your present ways is a map away from your present unproductive habits and your present life. Most people stay in what I call “the zone of complaint,” where you simply complain about everything wrong in the world. Thinking you are separate from the problems, and remain part of the crowd, and never really change anything about yourself. Vernon’s work is about self-change. If sincere, you will meet this “Other World”. And you will be so grateful you continued to walk.

Finding this “Other Life, this “Something Else,” is our real purpose for being on this planet.

  1. Vernon Howard says: “People fail to see they have only borrowed ideas, values, ambitions, attitudes. Most of it is hazardous hokum which just makes everyone feel bad about everything. Is this an accurate description of human days? Of course it is.” from “Your Power Of Natural Knowing.”

  2. When you start walking toward authentic self-understanding, you do so with the knowledge that there are parts inside that do not want to go. You decide to go anyway. You have the right thought, like “Could there really be a way out of my present life, which has not satisfied me in the least?” And, “Could there be something I don’t know about?” The only way to find out is to go, for as the saying goes, “the proof is in the pudding.” You can only judge something’s true quality or effectiveness by experiencing or testing it directly, not just by its claims or appearance. Once you catch your first grand glimpse, nothing can stop you from receiving more. Your life gets better with each new insight.

  3. This is what the parable of the ‘Pearl of Great Price’ is all about. Why,? because it is so, so valuable that the man sold everything to attain it. Parables are sign posts to this “something else.” The ordinary mind will mock and despise this something else, so why listen to it?
