Can I be utterly blunt with you? And, say if you are putting other things ahead of waking up, you are wasting your life. Either there is a God or not. And it seems wise to go to the end of this very important question, it’s your very life. So you know absolutely one way or the other if he/it exists. Get this, most people ignore or dismiss this vital question and sheepishly believe the herd. For those who want out of all the madness on Earth, you have to move. Psychologically.
Only by working with these higher truths daily will you have personal breakthroughs, glimpses, where you will learn and know from yourself if something else exists. You will understand what it means to stand on solid ground, maybe for the first time. Nobody will be able to deceive you. You will witness your life changing.
Breakthroughs change your view completely; you see life in a totally new way, and the magic of this experience destroys all of your false beliefs. Beliefs that keep you mesmerized, heavy, and asleep. And generally miserable to thousands of happy impressions that could be yours. “Quit Messing Around!” The years go by quicker and quicker.
I was lucky enough to have other older people tell me this repeatedly, so I could start all over wherever I found myself valuing something worthless, and began a new and sought the unseen, the unknown. “Thank You” to all who reminded me of putting the Truth first…it was extremely helpful towards my well-being. Mr. Howard, Mr. Oxman, Mr. Visick, and a few others.
I would never have believed what was on the other side of my lifelong excuses of doing nothing and waiting for good things to happen. This becomes a long wait. What a devilish self-trick. Things are different only when you are different. The effortless life awaits. Exchange your thinking with awareness.
EFFORTLESS ACTION
“When really seeing something, when actually understanding, your behavior changes toward whatever you see. It is effortless change, requiring no certain decision on your part. The appearance of reality is itself the change, with you in oneness with it. It is like a boat floating downstream, either left or right in unison with the natural course of the river.
You have had times when you did not know how to proceed, as when considering a change of employment. Every tug in one direction was countered by a tug in the opposite direction. The solution is to see that your real nature can never be elated or depressed by either course taken, for it is superior to all results in human affairs. In that supreme perception, your everyday judgment is released to handle either course with perfect command.”
-Vernon Howard -Esoteric Encyclopedia of Eternal Knowledge. Pg 56
So, I personally work to climb higher each day for more revelations and one other reason. I am in search of that one person in a million who can’t make any sense of what is happening on this planet and is fed up with the way their life unfolds. You have to make a psychological move for yourself, or you get more of the same, but only worse. So, “Quit Messing Around!”
Go into action to see what you presently value, and your natural intelligence will determine if it should be tossed or kept. This means you have to slow way down (physically and psychologically) and do something different with your reactions, -observe them, instead of being them. And this begins the beautiful process of separation.
This secret life is only found by the few who realize the “Urgency” in keeping these truths up front in their lives. The ‘mechanical thought’ process must be seen again and again, and then finally broken. You will then go through the necessary horror of observing how asleep you are (how mechanical you are) and how utterly asleep everyone is living in their mechanicalness. Talk about having an adventure, this is a magical quest where what you take as reality changes in front of your eyes.
Urgency is indeed the word. If thoughts only live in the brain, then when the brain dies, so do thoughts. The thought-self can only live in pain as there is always an opposite. If all I am is a thought-self, an idea of who I am, then that’ll be the end of it when the physical body dies.
The other way, the peaceful way, is to begin to identify as spirit, and not the thoughts, then whatever we gain as a result of that, we take with us when we go to the other side. Wholeness can be a Reality with these teachings.
Reality is beautiful if we’re present without ideas about it.
Everything comes to you. The signs, the songs, the people, nature … it’s all there as a gift from Truth – if we really, really want it.
I can think of no other quest on earth than this. To accept the gift of peace within. The Kingdom of Heaven – while we walk this earth amongst the turmoil and suffering, without there being a suffering separate self that just adds to the sickness of the world.
Urgency is the word.
Yes, “Urgency.” Just ponder how you can’t gift anyone this beautiful word/condition; they must find it within themselves. Trusting in something outside of my incessant thought-self leads an individual to new heights. Remaining on the level of thought, nothing really changes. As terrifying as it may be, entering the unknown is the answer. Only a self is terrified. Your real nature is fearless. You pay with that false belief of a separate self, and you will be so happy to see it going away. Nothing happens overnight; it takes long, hard work, but what else is more encouraging than seeing yourself begin to actually change?
‘Most people….sheepishly believe the herd’
‘Well I don’t do that, I think for myself’ says the mind. Pondering this today it just occurred that I am as dreary, defeated, gloomy and rushed as everyone else. This is sheepishly believing the herd. Something inside always wants to dilute or deflect what I hear, by coaxing me into rushing or avoiding discomfort. This leads me to the blank wall that all of humanity and society denies that it is up against. Conversely the urgency required needs nothing from my thought-self. It is an urgency of giving up.
‘Trusting in something outside of my incessant thought-self leads an individual to new heights.’ How’s about welcoming an interruption instead of fighting it? How’s about losing the argument? How’s about disbelieving the screams of my mind that I MUST get that job done today in the exact way my mind has decreed it should be done? How’s about not worrying whether that other person will get angry with me? The crazy thing is 99.9% of the time I never even realise this is going on. I never realise I am fully in thrall to the thought-self.
Thankyou for this blog post. Every day I have a choice and today can be a day I choose to question the so-called thought-self that wastes my life day-by-day. God please make today a hellish disaster for the imaginary thought-self!
