It Is Not The World That Is Driving You Mad…
Vernon tells a story of a man who has a vandal who is wrecking his house every few days, and finally, one day catches him only to discover it is he who unconsciously hired the vandal to do his evil deeds. The vandal produces a contract with the man’s signature on it. Shocked to see it was he who was the problem, for he did it to himself.
This short story illustrates all the problems we cause ourselves to ourselves by unconscious actions. Vernon says; You are responsible for your present condition. Anyone who has gone to work on themselves to straighten out thier life, and made shocking discoveries about how much they do against themselves, has to smile. They know from themselves the trueness of this remarkable story. It Is Not The World That Is Driving You Mad…it is you.
Turn your life around from a stormy life to a sunny life. Your dreams to be a sane individual will come true.
So true! Today, I let the vandal come in and I offered him cake and made him a cup of tea!
I had no one else to blame but myself. But, I know that that vandal is not who I really am – it’s a part of the Criminal Nature inside who wants to steal my life; which these teachings expose and through inner work, begin to throw him out into the trash where he belongs.
I had to practice the exercise INSTANT RECOVERY – many times!
Yes, Instant Recovery, our get out of jail for free card.
I have seen the same vandals all my life, every time I just open the door and let them walk in , they don’t even have to break in ! After Vernon’s talk on the vandals, I was shocked this morning to see them walking in again, I had forgotten about the talk in a short few hours. This blog was a great wakeup and reminder to Work at keeping the doors locked moment to moment.
Yes, Glenda. Those vandals are very tricky and will come to your home dressed as a priest or pose as a friendly neighbor, keep your eyes open and stay alert.
