How to Find the New! Having a separate self is what keeps you and me from connecting with God/The Universe.
The first thing for me to realize, the New cannot be found within the boundaries of thought. I must enter the state of the unknown, not sure what my next step in life is going to be or where I will be led. Humans dislike and hate this state. This inner state scares most people. It is called silence, and if practiced, I can slowly change and appreciate the power in quietness.
There are many questions answered about ourselves. Answers that point at our vanity and egotism. At first, this watching is extremely hard to do. But if we persist, we find out we can take the shocks, and we also realize it is only the false parts resisting. Your life either works or it does not.
This becoming aware does not happen overnight, because there are oodles to learn and see. Try it right now, sit up straight, come back to where your body is, and be fully present in this moment. Observing if there is any tension in your shoulders, face, or maybe your hands. This action breaks your frozen routine of who you believe you are. If done correctly, you notice a change in your inner state.

I must go beyond parroting right truths and do the hard work of becoming conscious. My mind will say, “I’m already conscious.” The clue that I am not is if you have any irritability, problems, or judgment in your life. The mind does not want to give up its control of your life. It will lie about your situation. The mind can only start the process of becoming a free human being. Awareness must take over the lead, or you go in circles.
So, it is my awareness that finds the free life. Awareness can tap into a beautiful, marvelous adventure.
By the careful study of the self and life and what is old or not new, a realization appears all by itself. The realization that it is your allowance of wrong thinking that is producing a miserable existence which solves the unhappy problem instantly. If you hang out with trashy thoughts you experience a trashy existence. So you begin the process of tossing out all that is useless (wrong thoughts and reactions) and all by itself a new right existence appears. It was always there, but was covered up by valuing that wrongness. Now you live inwardly in a nicer place and a nice existence follows.
