The Light Heals All… Very Good News!

“ You yourself must prefer the truth above that which merely pleases you or which agrees with what you already believe.

Let’s say the same thing in another way. By preferring that which is true and right for you, all that is untrue and wrong will fade away of itself. It is like hanging a wet coat out into the sunshine. The natural warmth of the sun evaporates the water, making your coat comfortable once more. But first you had to hang it out in the sunshine.”

  1. The more I get my life long inner instructor (that familiar voice) out of my life the more pleasant my days become. What if my life is not suppose to be getting into the boxing ring of life at all. Getting beat up, day after day, week after week? A person has to get utterly tired of fighting and try something totally new. Every person has to make his own personal effort to discover what is true and most important…what is not true. I can’t express in words how beautiful it is when you catch yourself about to hurt yourself and you just don’t. I then realize I could have done this yesterday, last week, last year.
It so simple…no matter what- don’t hurt yourself.

  2. So what if I’ve lived a certain way, believed what I’ve always believed to be the right way. Doesn’t it make sense that when I’m confronted with the possibility of another way, a way without my usual pain and suffering that I would at least consider the other way. And since my way has never really produced freedom, what have I got to lose by putting the Truth above everything else? My pain and suffering?

  3. We have nothing to lose but our troubles… But what about the good times? You should take a good look at what you call your good times. We aren’t going to be afraid of looking at everything and anything within ourselves and questioning if it is truly good or bad for us.

  4. Yes, “what about the good times.” Beware: Nostalgia is a beautiful paint brush (but it isn’t real). I better get real if I want real answers. I remind myself that an imaginary camping trip has no mosquitos.
